Learning in Practice courses investigate a broad concept, like compliance, globalization, public safety, or sustainability through the lenses of academic disciplines and industry. Students engage in case studies and simulations of contemporary workplace issues. They identify and investigate potential future professional paths, connect academic competencies they develop in undergraduate coursework to varied professional domains, and identify opportunities for applied workplace learning.

Courses will be 200 level offerings in the flexible core of the CUNY Pathways program, likely in the Individual and Society or US Experience in Its Diversity categories. Courses may be configured to serve specific clusters of majors or designed as an interdisciplinary investigation of a broad concept with distinct yet interrelated meanings in academic and industry settings.
