Simulation Project
The culminating assignment is a simulation exercise in which students spend about 5 weeks practicing and reflecting on some of the tasks that would be required of a professional team. Simulation projects could all be drawn from one professional field, or alternatively, different teams could take on simulations of different professions. In completing a simulation project, the group of students will:
- Agree on and define a workplace problem based on the information given about a situation
- Make a plan for addressing the issue and pitch a unique approach
- Create team agreements, protocols and roles
- Conduct research to learn more about the problem and to set the team up to address it
- Present progress and findings to the class
- Issue recommendations for how the problem should be addressed
- Reflect upon and evaluate their work together
