Simulation Project

The culminating assignment is a simulation exercise in which students spend about 5 weeks practicing and reflecting on some of the tasks that would be required of a professional team. Simulation projects could all be drawn from one professional field, or alternatively, different teams could take on simulations of different professions. In completing a simulation project, the group of students will:

  1. Agree on and define a workplace problem based on the information given about a situation
  2. Make a plan for addressing the issue and pitch a unique approach
  3. Create team agreements, protocols and roles
  4. Conduct research to learn more about the problem and to set the team up to address it
  5. Present progress and findings to the class
  6. Issue recommendations for how the problem should be addressed
  7. Reflect upon and evaluate their work together
